Retreat...

Retreat - [noun] withdrawal for prayer, study and meditation. A time to step back from the things of everyday life to reflect, and seek God.

This past weekend, I attended a retreat with two dear friends. It was many things...A time away from my daily chores, that for me, can become tedious and un-enjoyable. A time to be treated, served dinner and be able to eat without interruption. Also, a time to be silly and fellowship in a comfortable place without worry of judgment. Most of all, a time to have the vision refreshed!!

The vision of the legacy that our family is leaving for our children, our community and our Lord! This year our speaker came with a quiet heart and a lot to teach. A message she has been living for her whole life. The time to listen to her was precious, and moving. Her message, God-breathed. In quiet time we were offered further opportunity to seek God's call for how our lives will reflect the call He has on each of us as we long to follow her lead and leave a legacy for The Lord!

Back from the retreat, refreshed and again loving the mundane things that make our family work. Secure in the knowledge that I am folding the laundry and buying batteries in His Name! These things will bring glory to Him for generations!!
