The end...

Actually, I think it is just the beginning!!  Our adventure didn't end at Disney World.  We headed back to the Tampa area after our wonderful surprise to spend another great day with the in-laws.  It was nice to round out the whole trip by celebrating my mother in laws birthday.  A really nice treat that we don't normally get to enjoy since thier move to FL.  BUT we are not complaining...it makes for a great place to visit them ;)  Our drive home began about the same way our drive down began...uneventful.  We hit rain about Virginia...Yes, we hit the nor'easter that drowned the northeast that weekend, REALLY!!  We enjoyed the drive past all the monuments in DC, this time in the daylight and with all the kids awake.  So much fun!!!  But that was the end of the fun.  The wind began to pick up.  The bridges began to issue warnings and as we crept north the problems multiplied...the wind knocked over trees onto the highway, there were loads of accidents, and traffic ties ups (due to those trees and cars and driving rain).  At one point we all cheered as we hit 28mph (the posted speed limit was 70mph).  It took us 5 hours more then we expected, but we made it to hubby's cousin's home in northern NJ.  They sweetly waited dinner for us until 10pm!  We crashed that night and woke to the kids playing with cousins and hot coffee!  As lady cousin and I headed out to the fabric store...we quickely realized what had hit overnight...people were boating down the streets, cars were floating, and eventually the dam in town broke.  Well, we hit the road that afternoon and after only 4.5 hours we hit our driveway!  It was a WONDERFUL trip!!  We had a blast as a family.  We enjoyed the drive out on the open road.  We were able to learn the potentail for so many more driving trips in our future.  We had a family vacation that everyone will remember for a lifetime!!
