this year is a change from our "norm" around here, for the first time in all the years we have lived in this house (8+ now) i am not cooking. that's right, no bird on the back porch, no baking the day before, no planning out the serving dishes, and table settings. one might think this a good thing...i really do enjoy entertaining, loving my friends and family with my food and warm house! this is different.
we do have plans we will eat turkey :) we even will be with family! but i won't even be bringing anything there, just weird. have to relax, stop over thinking.
my folks are doing great! this is part of the change for us this year...check out how they are doing here. they now live in another country, a place without the holiday, but they will be giving thanks, enjoying friends, and praying for loved ones.
please look around and remember, no matter what your thanksgiving looks like, how the rolls turned out, if you burned something, forgot a favorite dish...it's about the thanks, the time to stop and look around at all we have been blessed with, REALLY. and to pray for those without the opportunity to give thanks, at any time, in a public place.
thank you Lord for the freedoms we take for granted and those that secure it for us! we pray we remember each and everyday to remember, to give thanks, and to work to make our nation great again!
