i know my body...

did you watch the cosby show?  we didn't own a tv for most of my younger years, but one year we got the flu, BAD and were in the house for a few weeks....friends of ours loaned us an extra tv of theirs.  it was little and we only watched heidi (about a million times) but is was great and my parents bought one for us.  we were allowed to watch two things...murder she wrote and the cosby show!  in one episode the family was trying to pull one over on mr. huxtable...the premise was that the younger girls asked to be measured, later in the day they would be measured again and they would "grow" an inch, what??  (paper towels in the shoes ;)).  olivia wraps her arms around herself and says "i know my body!" 

i am going to follow suit and say..."i know my body"  i have always been very in tune, being able to understand something was different when i was a teen and my endometriosis began, i know when my children were conceived, when they dropped, when they were ready...telling my docs all along the way :)  this time i am the one who is seeing this progression and telling my doctors.  the one part that has seemed to "not make sense" to them for early menopause is that my cycles have not become irregular.  well, no more!  i see the ob/gyn for a follow up tomorrow morning and i have been writing notes this morning, reminding me that the last 20 years my cycles have been every 28 days, the last two...26 and 37, hmmm.  perhaps this will convince her ;) 

if you are reasonable, methodical, and really watching, i truly believe that a medical degree is nothing next to knowing yourself!  please be your own advocate!!  be open to listening and options, try out the ones that make sense to you and work with your doctor :) 

more tomorrow after the visit, hehe  i promise not to say "i told you so"  :)
