The mudroom...

Since moving into this home 6+ years ago, we have never liked the carpeting in the mudroom!!  Just an indoor/outdoor dark beige that wasn't easy to clean.  You don't sweep it, you vac, but that is hard to do when it is full of, oh i don't know...mud?  Well, after our fire last year we had to say goodbye to the carpeting, such a shame ;)  There was a silver linning after all.  Ok, in honesty, I would have been fine with that carpet forever if we could give back the fire too, but...it doesn't work that way so FORWARD!

This is what we looked like after the fire.  These are the photos for the insurance to prove that indeed, we had lost the contents of this room thanks to the horrid chemical smoke of burning tires only 3 feet away, but also the water EVERYWHERE!    This door steps up into our kitchen...

The other end of the room, into the garage.  Please excuse the mess, but we were trying to get things into as few photos as possible :)
Now we have spent many hours working on the outside of the house (it sustained the most damage, other then what used to be a vehical).  Once we were almost finished out there we were able to move inside to the "fun" part.  Well, at least here we were able to make some changes and try new things :)  So after HOURS sitting on the floor in Home Depot, REALLY! hand picking through the tiles...this is what we have got so far.

Down to the garage.  And you can see the wall color on the top of the room, from there down will be beadboard and also a built in bench.  Can't wait to post the finished pictures and invite you over to my new mudroom!!
